No worries - I am bad at commenting myself (and had apparently gotten bad about replying to comments, which is horrible).
I'm very pleased that my version of John rang true for you - it's always taking a chance when you're in someone else's universe. John has so little to keep going for, and is already kind of broken... and dealing with what you've done to Sam really made me want to push him further in small pieces, a slow erosion rather than a clean break.
